Author David Hanna discusses aviation's golden age and his book Broken Icarus, in a presentation featuring the Piccard Gondola.

Discover the golden age of aviation with author David Hanna as highlighted in his upcoming book Broken Icarus, an account of the rise of aviation innovation during the 1933 Chicago World’s Fair.

Following the presentation and Q&A, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase a copy of Broken Icarus to be signed by Hanna. This event will also feature an appearance by Mary-Louise Piccard, granddaughter to the Piccard Gondola’s original pilots.

Finally, we'll head to the Transportation Gallery for remarks below the gondola itself, surrounded by other Museum artifacts relating to aviation and discovery.
