Enjoy the following amenities during your next visit

Strollers

We are not offering stroller rental at this time.

Wheelchairs

A limited number of manual wheelchairs are available in the Entry Hall. (Elevators and ramps serve all public areas within the building.) A photo ID is required for complimentary use of a wheelchair.

To request a wheelchair reservation in advance, please use our Guest Services Request form linked below.

Guest Services Request

Guests may bring their own wheelchairs. For the safety of our guests and their children, wagons are not permitted.

Accessibility

The Museum is committed to providing a quality experience for all our guests. Please read our Accessibility page for more specifics.

Nursing Room

MSI welcomes nursing mothers, who may nurse their babies in any public space in the Museum. MSI also has a nursing room in the Idea Factory exhibit on Lower Level 1. 

Elevators

Elevators are located throughout the Museum to accommodate our guests. Please follow physical distancing procedures and limit their use to one family or group.

Coat Check

Coat Check is not available at this time. 

Lost and Found

Lost and Found is located at the main ticket counter in the Entry Hall. To inquire about a lost item, you can contact (773) 753-6862 or coatcheck@msichicago.org. All items turned in to our Lost and Found are kept for 60 days from when they are turned in.

ATM

An ATM is located in the Entry Hall by Guest Services.

Restrooms

There are accessible toilet stalls in all of our restrooms. Restrooms are located in the following areas:

Entry Hall

  • Near the escalators

Lower Level 1

  • Between the Brain Food Cafe and Farm Tech
    (All-gender restrooms are available here)
  • Henry Crown Space Center
  • U-505 Submarine exhibit

Main Level 2

  • Near Yesterday's Main Street and the Coal Mine 
    (An all-gender restroom is available here)

Balcony Level 3

  • Yellow Stairs, near Reusable City 
    (An all-gender restroom is available here)

First Aid

First Aid can be requested by alerting a uniformed Museum staff member.

Water Fountains

Water fountains in the Museum are unavailable at this time. Bottled water is available for purchase, or you may bring water bottles of your own.
