At a glance

  • Events at MSI affected by this closure are cancelled.
  • Updates will be posted to this page.

When times are uncertain, science is more vital than ever. MSI is taking all precautions to act in accordance with fact-based findings and advice regarding the coronavirus.

The Museum is temporarily closed to help contain the spread of COVID-19. All events and programming during this closure have been cancelled or moved online.

With the extension of Illinois' stay-at-home order, we will remain closed until further notice. We are closely following the science, and are working earnestly on a plan to welcome you all back as safely as possible.

In the meantime, we're excited to continue to connect with you online through our Science at Home content and on social media. If there is a topic or exhibit you're curious about, feel free to email us. We’d love to share more.

Take care of yourselves, your communities and your information intake—make sure to follow verified sources to help separate findings from feelings. As we all work to contain this outbreak, the Museum extends its special appreciation to those in health care, medicine, research and other fields bravely leading the frontline response.
