When times are uncertain, science is more vital than ever. MSI is taking all precautions to act in accordance with fact-based findings and advice regarding the coronavirus.
Like you, we are concerned about the health and safety of everyone during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The Museum has extended its closure through Thursday, April 30 to help contain the spread of COVID-19. All events and programming during this time have been cancelled.
We continue to evaluate the situation, with guidance from the Chicago Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control, and plan to reopen to the public on Friday, May 1. Our utmost priority is to minimize the chances that infectious disease could spread among the visitors, staff and volunteers at MSI and in the community.
If you have tickets for a Museum visit or event during this closure, your tickets will be refunded automatically. Please allow up to five business days for your card to be credited. Monitor this page for up-to-date information on changes or resumptions of upcoming programs, events or Museum operations.
Take care of yourselves, your communities and your information intake—make sure you’re following verified sources to help separate findings from feelings. As we all work to contain this outbreak, the Museum extends its special appreciation to those in health care, medicine, research and other fields bravely leading the frontline response.
