VIRTUAL EVENT From Science Fiction to Science FactWednesday, October 21 from 3:30 – 4:30 P.M. Griffin MSI is proud to present a virtual edition of From Science Fiction to Science Fact, our long-running showcase of some of the newest innovations in space exploration technology, in partnership with the NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC) Program. This livestream event will feature Dr. Ana Diaz Artiles, Professor of Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M University, and Dr. Javid Bayandor of the University at Buffalo—The State University of New York. These NIAC Fellows will share their personal journeys into science, along with their fascinating projects—SmartSuit, a next generation spacesuit, and BREEZE, a bio-inspired flying "stingray" that could help scientists explore the mysterious dark side of Venus. The event will conclude with a live Q&A. We hope you will join us, and we encourage you to share this invitation with any space enthusiasts in your life. Visit our event page to learn more. |

ArcelorMittal Junior Science CaféOn Tuesday, September 11, our popular Jr. Science Café introduced students to three environmental scientists from ArcelorMittal USA for a livestream broadcast from Hibbing Taconite, an iron ore mine in northeast Minnesota. Scientists Julie Lucas, Tasha Niemi and Paula Lillesve shared their career path stories, discussed what they do daily at their jobs and took viewers through an activity using magnets to explain how iron ore is extracted. Now you can stream this program on your own schedule! This science program is great for both students and adults, grades four and above. |
