Ready to visit? Here's what to know before you go.

Hello Again!

It's time for science.

We can't wait to welcome you.

With your health and safety as our top priority, we’ve made some changes to create additional time and space for the discoveries you’ve come to expect from an MSI visit.

We’re creating entry times and limiting capacity.

Visiting MSI requires timed admission tickets—available online—to reduce waiting and increase physical distancing. Capacity is also limited to levels below city and state requirements. We have nearly half a million square feet, so this creates a lot of room for your exploration.

We require face coverings for everyone.

All guests age 2 and older must wear face coverings in the Museum, just as our staff and volunteers are wearing them.

We’ve made changes to some exhibits.

Some exhibits and experiences are modified to create physical distancing, increase movement and reduce contact. A few experiences where these measures aren’t immediately possible have been temporarily closed. They include The Idea Factory, Future Energy Chicago, Coal Mine and tours inside the U-505 Submarine.

We’re committed to health and safety.

We’ve implemented rigorous procedures for the protection of everyone, including face-covering requirements, daily staff health surveys, frequent disinfecting of high-touch surfaces, and readily available hand sanitizer throughout the Museum.

We’re looking forward to your visit.

We hope you’re as excited to visit MSI as we are to have you here. Remember that you must get tickets in advance online—book today!
