Griffin MSI Is Reopening Its Doors "We’re excited to invite everyone to safely explore science with us again, and are thrilled to offer an incredible experience as soon as we reopen our doors with Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes.” - Chevy Humphrey, president and CEO of Griffin MSI The Griffin Museum of Science and Industry is proud to reopen to the public beginning Sunday, March 7 with Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes. This exhibit celebrates more than 80 years of the Marvel Universe and features more than 300 artifacts, including some of Marvel’s most iconic costumes, props and original art. Corporate members can make reservations for this special exhibit as part of their Griffin MSI experience. Visit our website for Museum updates or email us for information about corporate partner tickets. We are grateful to everyone who has worked to keep the public safe and healthy, making it possible for the city of Chicago and the state of Illinois to revise its mitigating restrictions. All of our <link visit know-before-you-go u3>health and safety precautions will still be in place, so some exhibits must remain closed for the time being. However, many of our experiences can be experienced safely, including self-guided tours of the newly renovated Pioneer Zephyr train. |
The Biggest Movies in Town Opening alongside the Museum is the recently renovated Giant Dome Theater. We have an exciting lineup of movies to take you deep into the worlds of animals and man alike, including Superpower Dogs, Canada’s Great Bear Rainforest and the return of audience favorite Michael Jordan To the Max. We’ll also have some authentic Michael Jordan memorabilia on display along with this up-close look at the Chicago sports legend in action. |
At Griffin MSI, Field Trips Come to You For more than a decade, Griffin MSI has been Chicago’s #1 field trip destination. And while we have not been able to welcome school groups to our historic building for most of the past year, we are determined to keep our crown, which is why we’re proud to tell you that we’re moving forward with our Virtual Field Trip offerings. Starting this month, we’re pleased to host school groups in an online setting. We’ve begun with two of our popular Learning Labs: Mars 2040, where participants discover the skills and technologies needed to keep people alive on another planet, and Weather Wise, which explores atmospheric phenomena and teaches students how to forecast the weather. Nearly 100 students have already taken part in this remote science program. Led by a Museum educator, Learning Labs connect with classroom curriculum and are designed to increase science knowledge, engage students in the scientific process and provide insight into STEM careers. |
