Community scientists report!

The Global Big Day Bird Count is back, and members are invited to join employees and volunteers as a part of a global effort to count as many different birds in 24 hours as possible. We're thrilled to be joined by one of the resident ornithologists from the Field Museum, who'll lead us through Jackson Park and introduce us to the interesting varieties of birds living in MSI’s backyard.

Social distancing and masks will be in full effect, and all experience levels are welcome—please be prepared for the weather.

Those of you who aren’t quite ready to join us in person can still participate from home! Simply indicate that you will be participating from home on our registration form, our staff will then follow up with you with specific instructions on how to submit your count. Just grab a seat on your back porch or at the window and tally up all the winged wonders you see.
