We all scream for ice cream—especially with some science sprinkled in.

In celebration of National Ice Cream Day on Sunday, July 16, the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry and Nitro Dessert Station of Polonia Catering are unveiling the science behind this summertime treat. Griffin MSI and Nitro Dessert Station will make stops at three locations across Chicago—Guaranteed Rate Field, here at Griffin MSI, and Maggie Daley Park—where you can watch as liquid nitrogen is poured into the freshly made mix to create deliciously frozen ice cream. Then treat yourself with a free scoop!

Renowned chef Graham Elliot will be at Griffin MSI from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. debuting an ice cream flavor he created specially for Griffin MSI.

See schedule and details below. Griffin MSI stop requires Museum Entry.
