Capturing the Beauty of Science

May 1

Beyond innovation and knowledge, scientific research can also produce beautiful images.

Northwestern University's annual Scientific Images Contest celebrates and showcases the breathtaking beauty of the same scientific research that generates new understanding and innovation.

A breadth of scientific fields are represented, from neurobiology and chemistry to engineering and nanotechnology. In essence, the images represent both scientific data and art.

This exhibition and related events are organized by Science in Society, Northwestern’s research center for science education and community engagement. The project aims to connect university researchers and their work with the wider community.

On May 1-6, Museum guests will be able to view the images and learn about cutting-edge scientific research.  We invite you to enjoy both the beauty and innovation of Northwestern science.

May 6: Meet the Researchers!

On Saturday, May 6, talk with Northwestern researchers about their expertise and the science represented in these stunning images.

Meet the researchers on the Museum floor from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
