50th anniversary (1970-2020)

Black Creativity

Exhibits and Experiences

Since 1970, the Museum of Science and Industry (MSI) has hosted the Juried Art Exhibition, the nation’s longest-running exhibition of African-American art. Joining that legacy is the Innovator Gallery, which features the work of prominent African-Americans who are making their mark on Chicago and the world.

Celebrate and look back at 50 years of MSI’s annual tribute to the culture, heritage and contributions of African Americans in art and innovation.
