Landscape

Scenic View was hired to create the buildings, scenery and landscape for The Great Train Story. To begin, each section was divided up into smaller scenic sections that sit on the benchwork.
Under most of these scenic sections is a skeleton of wood that gives form to the topography. On top of the wooden frame is a layer of heavy wire mesh. Once the mesh was molded, the entire piece was sprayed with foam, which was then sculpted to reflect the shape of the mountains and other geography. After the shape and design were perfected, each piece was sprayed with a urethane hardcoat for durability.
