Atoms: Dilatant Protective Gear (2009-2010)
Lacrosse players, mountain bikers, skateboarders and even ballet dancers all benefit from dilatant materials. Shear thickening fluids are used in protective gear where athletes require flexibility and at the same time protection from impact.
