Matt Fisher, Robot Entrepreneur
Kumotek Robotics, Richardson, Tex.
Selected by the State of Texas as a “Leading Innovator of Tomorrow,” Fisher founded Kumotek, which develops robots for the hobbyist as well as for tactical and rescue missions. The KumoTek-X (KT-X) is a low-cost, bipedal robot that can walk, run, somersault and pick up itself up from lying down, all while controlled with a standard PlayStation® wireless gamepad. The 13.5-inch-tall robot is available either fully assembled or in a kit, and can be programmed with little or no experience necessary. Give the KT-X a test run in person in the Fast Forward gallery.
