All activities take place in the Holiday Stage area off the Museum’s East Court, Main Floor. Please note that the schedule is subject to change. Choral performances by area school groups will also take place from Nov. 26 through Dec. 18.
November
Friday, Nov. 20: Opening Day Celebration!
10:30 a.m. — Join us for the opening of Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light. You’ll enjoy ethnic-themed entertainment as the Museum’s 45-foot Grand Tree is lit for the first time, with more than 25,000 sparkling lights!
Saturday, Nov. 21
11 a.m. — Alma Ecuatoriana (Ecuador) - Traditional song and instrumentation
12:15 p.m. — Nordikids Musiklubb (Sweden) – Pageantry and singing
1:30 p.m. — Svenige Barnen and Varblomman Children’s Club (Scandinavia) – Choral performance
2:45 p.m. — St. Mark’s Coptic Church of Chicago (Egypt) – Song, dance and holiday slideshow
4 p.m. — Flamenco Chicago (Spain)
Sunday, Nov. 22
12:15 p.m. — Pachacamac (Ecuador) – Music and dance
1:30 p.m. — Bonnie Lindholm Dance Company
2:45 p.m. — Indian Catholic Association (India) – Traditional song and dancing
4 p.m. — Ensemble Aliono, Georgian Choir of Chicago (Republic of Georgia)
Tuesday, Nov. 24
1 p.m. — The Ten Tenors
In conjunction with Broadway In Chicago, the internationally renowned Australian group will entertain Museum guests with a special 20-minute performance in the Museum Rotunda. More information
Saturday, Nov. 28
11 a.m. — Moravian Cultural Society (Czech Republic) – Song, dance and skits in traditional costume
12:15 p.m. — Lipa Slovenian Dancers
1:30 p.m. — Oak Forest Park District, Momentum Dance Force (USA)
2:45 p.m. — Colombian American Cultural Center – Traditional songs and dancing
Sunday, Nov. 29
12:15 p.m. — Punch and Judaism (Hanukkah) – Storytelling and puppetry
1:30 p.m. — Samahang Kapatid & Sama-Sama Project (Philippines) – Dance and folk music
2:45 p.m. — Austrian Mixed Chorus
4 p.m. — Croatian Vines – Song and dance with traditional instruments and costumes
