Work It Out!
Step into the Museum’s own dance studio to get a workout unlike any other. On a large projection screen, watch as Chicago’s own DJ Casper gives you a one-on-one dance tutorial on how to do the “Cha Cha Slide.” This fun and interactive dance is composed of jumps, slides, steps and spins. (In fact, it began as an aerobic workout when DJ Casper was a personal trainer!) As the music plays, you will be prompted on the next move in the dance. Keep the beat and learn how exercise can be fun and obtained in a variety of ways. Up for a challenge? Grab one of the weighted vests (5, 10, 15, or 20 lbs.) and try the Slide with the added pounds.
As technology speeds forward, the Internet is a great resource for health information and supporting your fitness goals. This section provides some of those options—including health-related websites and simple exercise devices. Find out how to use applications for mobile devices to aid in achieving your health goals.
Manage your stress
Our families and connections help us cope with the stress and challenges of daily life. A giant magnetic board lets you share how you deal with stress. Do you talk to friends or take a walk? Maybe you play music? Post your favorites techniques and maybe they can inspire someone else.
