Schedule
Parade meets at 1:45 p.m.
Join us on 3/14 to celebrate the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, just a small fragment of which is shown above. Calculating pi's digits has consumed many hours of mathematical calculation and creativity throughout history, yet it is a job that will never be finished. The Museum will honor this endless fascination with a circular circus!
We'll round up in the Rotunda at 1:45 p.m. for a Pi Parade. Any guest who wants to take part will be given a digit of pi to represent. At 1:59 p.m., the Coal Mine whistle will blow, marking the "pi moment." (That's 3/14 at 1:59. Get it? 3.14159…!)
You can also enjoy a Brain Food Court special: $3.14 for a slice of pie, be it shepherd's, pizza, fruit or cream.
Hope to see you a-round!
