Join us on 3/14 to honor the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, just a small fragment of which is shown above. Calculating pi's digits has consumed many hours of mathematical calculation and creativity throughout history, yet it is a job that will never be finished.
To celebrate the special Pi Day on 3.14.15—on which the year continues the digits, which won't happen again for a century—the Museum of Science and Industry will be giving away a free slice of pie or pizza to the first 314 guests!*
For those who don’t make it to MSI for the free slice, the Museum’s Brain Food Court will be offering both pizza and pie for $3.14 a slice.
And during your visit, be sure to check out the Museum’s newest permanent exhibit, Numbers in Nature: A Mirror Maze. You can explore the mathematical patterns that exist all around us in nature and then try to navigate your way through a giant mirror maze!
Hope to see you a-round!
* The first 314 guests to buy tickets or present their prepaid online tickets at ticket counters on Saturday, March 14 will receive a voucher for a free slice of pie or pizza in the Brain Food Court.
