Don't miss our fall A Home for All Seasons event, featuring a farmers' market and other harvest activities. Cast members from Wicked will be here in the morning to greet guests, help bake organic cookies in the solar-powered oven, and “green” guests—by painting their faces green! Guests are invited to “trick or treat” at the Smart Home. Bring the kids in their best Halloween costumes made from recycled materials. The most innovative costume will be awarded a prize!
There will be presentations on green fabrics and energy-efficient insulation, just in time for the cold weather. Free product samples from Dominick’s will again be available, and there will be cooking demonstrations using solar-powered ovens. The Chicago Furniture District will showcase sustainable furniture designs, ComEd's Louie the Lightning Bug will buzz in, and the University of Illinois Extension will be on hand with fall gardening activities as well.
A Home for All Season activities are free with paid general admission.
