Explore the White City with Lisa Snyder and Tim Samuelson
A special presentation of the White City virtual tour by its creator and a city historian.
This fascinating virtual simulation tour of the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition is your chance for a hosted trip back through time. Explore the White City is a 90-minute auditorium event, featuring Dr. Lisa M. Snyder from the Urban Simulation Team at UCLA, as she presents a computer reconstruction of the White City using real-time visual simulation technology. You will see the latest additions to this ongoing project, and hear behind-the-scenes details of her work and research on this landmark event. Tim Samuelson, the City of Chicago’s cultural historian, joins Dr. Snyder to provide his expert commentary and historical perspective. A Q&A session follows the presentation.
