Black Creativity Family Days offer activities for the young and young at heart. There are lots of fun events for all ages including hands-on projects, student discussions, meet-and-greet time with professionals and live science experiences!
Pedal Power!—Students will see firsthand how human mechanical energy exerted through bicycling can be harnessed by a simple generator to power standard appliances and electronics. See how much human energy it takes to light a lamp, run a water pump or turn on a fan. Demonstration provided by Working Bikes. Ongoing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Make n’ Take—Learn from science pros how to build your very own solar-powered device to take home. Staff will be on hand to demonstrate the principles of harnessing solar energy to power everyday objects. From 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
