1 On Illinois Free Days, general admission is free for all Illinois residents who show valid proof of residency. No further Chicago residency discounts apply on Illinois Free Days. Omnimax films, Coal Mine, the optional U-505 onboard tour, and certain temporary exhibits are not included in general admission, and require separate admission. - General admission does not include parking, special exhibits, Omnimax® movies or U-505 on-board tours.
- Telephone orders may be subject to a processing fee (for non-members) and cannot be made on day of visit. Exhibits requiring a timed tickets may sell out; please purchase your tickets in advance.
Discounts
- Chicago residents receive a discount on general admission: $3 off for adults and seniors, $1 off for children. Available only at Museum ticket counters.
- Active military personnel, Chicago firefighters and police officers, and Illinois teachers (pre-K through 12th grades) receive free general admission with current I.D. (see Frequently Asked Questions for details). Available only at Museum ticket counters.
Chicago Public Library cardholders may also take advantage of Chicago Public Library Great Kids Museum Passports.
