| From start to finish, it takes Patrick about 3 months to complete one of his paintings. From sketches and subject matter to numerical analysis and shadow placement, there is a lot of thought and planning that goes into one of Patrick's paintings. |

Patrick first chooses his subject matter. After carefully sketching many, many renderings of the potential picture,Patrick is ready to make his canvas and its frame. |

Patricks canvases are wooden boards that are three dimensional geometric shapes. They are prepared with a paint-base, set to dry, and are then gessoed three separate times. Patrick sometimes allows the shape of the canvas to determine the subject of the painting. |

Next, Patrick draws his picture directly onto the painted boards. |

The painting begins! Careful consideration and emphasis is placed on even the smallest of details. |

After the painting is completed, it is framed and ready for display. |
