More than 4,000 entries … 25 semi-finalists … only one 2006 Modern Marvel of the Year.  “Everyday” inventors from across the country submitted their ideas to the Modern Marvels Invent Now Challenge in hopes of becoming part of history. Now through April 30, Museum of Science and Industry guests can see the amazing inventions of the 25 semi-finalists in a special exhibition.

The exhibit showcases the invention ideas in an interactive and engaging display of images, drawings, prototypes and finished products. The most remarkable creation will be named “2006 Modern Marvel of the Year” in late May and the inventor will win a $25,000 cash grant to make their invention a reality.  The top five winners will also be highlighted during Modern Marvels: Great Inventions Week on The History Channel from May 24 – May 27 at 9 p.m. CT.

This exhibition is included in Museum general admission. The Modern Marvels Invent Now Challenge is presented by The History Channel® and Invent Now®, Inc. a division of the National Inventors Hall of Fame® Foundation, and in partnership with TIME.
