Aerospace Engineer

James DeLaurier is pursuing full-scale piloted ornithopter flight to fulfill the ancient quest of “flying like birds.” He developed the world’s first hovering ornithopter, and a 780-pound version of this machine, with a 41-foot wingspan, is planned to fly into history sometime this year.
