A world-renowned architect of biomorphic buildings and bridges, Santiago Calatrava combines art, science, technology and architecture in his designs. Calatrava’s first building in the United States, the award-winning expansion of the Milwaukee Art Museum (2001), features a brise soleil, a wing-like sunscreen that covers the glass reception hall, opening and closing several times each day.
