This year, Christmas Around the World is paying homage to an era when packages were wrapped in brown paper, Christmas trees were decorated with handmade ornaments and families gathered around the radio to hear their favorite holiday tunes. In this 64th annual celebration, join us in honoring the merry tradition of sharing the holiday season with friends, family and loved ones.
The Christmas Around the World tradition began in 1942 as a United Nations Day salute to American Allies during World War II. In honor of the new U-505 Submarine exhibit, this beloved holiday display has returned to its 1940s roots with the theme, I’ll be Home for Christmas.
Don’t miss the Chicago White Sox tree, erected as a symbol of our World Series victory! The tree is adorned with ornaments from the White Sox organization and is topped with a replica of the championship trophy.
