Every time you walk across a bridge, use a computer, ride in a car, put on lotion or even chew bubble gum, you are experiencing the work of an engineer. But when it comes to how they are able to do all this—many of us aren’t in the know. Now, you can unlock the secrets of amazing engineering feats with the 2005 Black Creativity featured exhibition, Engineering the Future, here at the Museum January 14 to February 28, 2005. Engineering the Future is sponsored by Citibank, with sponsor Bank One.

With the help of the E (Engineering)-Team engineering superheroes, learn all about the diverse fields of engineering. Using their “special powers,” the colorful, comic-book personalities help you solve a variety of fun, interactive engineering challenges. As you try your hand at being an engineer, our fearless heroes highlight the engineering achievements of real African Americans and explain a variety of careers in the field.

Take a tour of the activities and areas that will be highlighted in the Engineering the Future exhibit.
