Introduced in the August 1928 issue of Amazing Stories, a science-fiction magazine, Buck Rogers became one of the best-known science-fiction heroes of the 1930's, and his popularity continues. The American toy maker Marx created a series of futuristic rocket ships based on the Buck Rogers serial. This example features beautiful lithography and a sparking tail.
