Make Your Own Ice Cream
Who doesn't love a summer picnic, complete with your favorite seasonal foods? This week we wrap up our Summer Brain Games with a little food science by making our own ice cream and exploring temperature change! Water freezes and ice melts at 32 degrees Fahrenheit, which is called the freezing point. But adding salt to ice lowers the freezing point of water to around negative 22 degrees. That super-cold salted ice is cold enough to turn milk into ice cream!
Try it!
Download our Week 8 activity guide for materials and instructions. Be sure to watch our video preview below as Carla and Lauren show you just how easy it is to make this delicious treat.
