Float Your Boat
Floating in water lets you explore the relationship between three physics concepts: density (the amount of matter in an object), buoyancy (a force that makes something float) and gravity (a force that causes two objects to pull together). So get your hands wet by experimenting with physics in the water. With a tub of water, some aluminum foil, and assorted small objects, you can try different combinations to see what makes your boat float, sink or hover.
Download our Week 4 activity guide for materials and instructions. You can also watch our video preview below as Mindy and Lauren give you some ideas on what'll make your boat float (or not).
