Build an Electric Motor

Step 1 of 11: Materials

Here's the Materials You'll Need:

  • Three ring-shaped magnets
  • Insulated wire (about 4 feet is needed)
  • Wire cutters / strippers
  • One D-size battery
  • Two large paper clips
  • Tape
  • Safety note: Batteries can get hot when wires are connected to them.
Museum Hours
  • Daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Open daily except Thanksgiving and Christmas
