INTERACTIVE
This exhibit is pulled directly from a current research lab. It beautifully demonstrates how shear stresses are distributed within a granular system. As you turn the wheel, the discs inside move, changing how force is distributed through the system. This change in stress is seen as a network of light patterns that shifts with the discs. The result is a dynamic, vibrant display of forces in motion.
