Density Hourglass
INTERACTIVE
Rotate the disk 180° and watch in amazement at this playful demonstration of density. The hourglasses contain granular materials and clear liquids that vary in density. The less dense liquid in one hourglass slowly flows to the top, making the grains sink. Meanwhile, the more dense liquid in the other hourglass sinks and the grains rise to the top!
