Live...from the Heart
The interactive videoconference between your class or classroom and the operating room.
Welcome to an amazing field trip opportunity for 9th through 12th grade classes!
The Museum of Science and Industry is taking you—live!—to the operating room at Advocate Christ Medical Center. And we're not taking you there just to watch. While the surgical team performs an open heart bypass procedure, you'll be able to ask about the surgery, get tips on keeping your heart healthy and even find out about careers in the OR. Don't miss this amazing chance to learn about the heart by talking to professionals who take care of hearts every day.
Live ... from the Heart will be offered from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays from Sept. 18, 2013 to June 4, 2014. This program is limited to high-school classes, as the pacing and content are more appropriate for students in grades 9 through 12. Younger students in grades 7 through 12 are invited to participate in a shorter version of the program called Heart Surgery 101.
Registration for the 2013-14 school year is now full. A waiting list for sessions is available.
