Professional Development Courses & Workshops
Get inspired by the creative teaching strategies you'll experience in the programs offered by our Institute for Quality Science Teaching and Learning.
Transform Your Science Teaching
Our workshops are designed to increase your knowledge of science, improve teaching skills and demonstrate how to use Museum programs and exhibits to enhance science curriculum. You'll explore topics relevant to your science curriculum and return to the classroom with new ideas, greater confidence and resources to make science engaging.
Daylong Workshops
We offer full- and half-day sessions throughout the year on a variety of topics.
MSI 101: Curious about what the Museum offers for teachers and schools? Join us for an exploration of field trips, teacher professional development programming and standards-based activities that will tie a Museum visit to classroom instruction. Contact Nicole Kowrach for availability.
Academic Year and Summer Courses
Academic Year Courses: Attend six daylong sessions throughout the school year and earn up to six graduate credit hours. This program targets 4th- through 8th-grade educators with limited experience teaching science. We take applications for academic-year courses in late summer. Learn more.
Summer Courses: Join us over the summer for immersive, weeklong courses on topics such as life science, physical science and environmental science. We take applications for summer courses each spring. Learn more.
