Apply Now for All About You and Get Re-Energized Courses
We are now taking applications for our two academic year courses: All About You and Get Re-Energized. Designed for 4th- through 8th-grade educators with limited experience teaching science, you'll explore topics relevant to your science curriculum and return to the classroom with new ideas and resources to make science engaging.
Participants attend six daylong sessions throughout the school year and can earn up to six graduate credit hours. Courses are offered at no cost, and content is aligned with Illinois Learning Standards in science. We are offering two courses in 2010-11:
All About You (life science) - Investigate the human body through activities on body systems, genetics, tissues and cells, and medical technology. Sessions begin Sept. 21.
Get Re-Energized (physical science) - Explore concepts related to energy including energy transformation and conversion, chemical, potential and kinetic energy, electricity, sound, light, heat and more. Sessions begin Sept. 23.
These courses can be applied toward a middle-grades science endorsement or a master of science education degree through a new partnership with the Illinois Institute of Technology. Learn more about our graduate credit program.
