Saturday Science Club
Chicago-area students who can't get enough hands-on science are invited to join us at the Museum for our Saturday Science Club program. This program offers two sessions, for students in grades 3-5 and 6-8.
Our spring session runs April 13 through June 1, with a special Family Day on the last day. The cost is $25 per child. Payment is due on the first day of the session. Parents must attend a mandatory orientation at the Museum held on the first day of science club.
The Construction Zone
Grades 3 - 5, 10 a.m. to noon
Grades 6 - 8, 1 to 3 p.m.
Experience the world of architecture and engineering! Through a series of hands-on activities, participants will work in small groups to design and construct various structures using household items. After learning about architectural and engineering topics, their culminating project will be a skyscraper of their own design that has to withstand several forces of nature. In addition to gaining comfort with science content, students will also practice their problem-solving skills and have the chance to collaborate with others on a project.
Our spring session is now full. Please check back with us in the fall!
