Do you eat your fruits and vegetables? Well, you should. They’re good for you. And a recent study suggests that they may even make you more attractive!
What you eat can definitely change how you look. We already know that an excess of certain things in your diet can color your skin – for example, orange (from too much carotene in foods such as carrots) or even a grayish-blue (colloidal silver). In this new study, scientists in Scotland found that when study participants ate more fruits and vegetables, their skin took on a slight reddish or yellowish tone, which other study subjects perceived to be healthier and more attractive!
The study included a small number of participants, so more research would be needed to know whether this would hold true for larger or more diverse populations. But this could be a simple way to help convince or remind people to eat their fruits and vegetables. It also makes me wonder – people tend to look better and healthier in the summertime. Do you think it’s because they spend more time outside and are more tan, they take more vacation days and are more rested and relaxed, or because they are simply eating more seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables?
