Production Assistant
Department: Design + Exhibit Development
Status: Full Time
Responsibilities
The Production Assistant provides support for the production needs (graphics output and installation) for a variety of Museum projects for the Design + Exhibit Development Department. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist Production Manager with all in-house and out-of-house graphics production projects.
- Provide Show Quality Standards evaluation to existing facilities and exhibits.
- Collaborate with all other Design + Exhibit Development staff.
- Maintain and develop Museum graphic standards.
- Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of graphic production equipment and production area.
- Maintain and organize all graphic design and production supplies.
- Produce, mount and install various types of graphics.
- Daily clean-up of the production and kitchen areas.
- Maintain and organize all department reference libraries.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic Macintosh computer and standard graphics software skills.
- Familiarity with basic graphics output and production equipment such as printers, laminators, vinyl cutters, large format printers, cutting tools and scanners, etc.
- Basic understanding of three-dimensional design, including scale.
- Ability to proofread and edit basic text and label information.
- Lift training and usage.
- Must possess a strong commitment to punctuality and completing tasks within short deadlines.
- Must work well independently or in collaborative groups.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
